Thomas Kinkade's 16 Guidelines for Making Things Suck

An interesting Vanity Fair article about Kinkade's movie, and his list of instructions for the production crew on how to make the movie look like his paintings. The article is amusing but still not as amusing as this LA Times article.

That was funny! #6 is bizarre! And I've never been a fan of Winnie the Poo but to pee on a statue of him in public?! I wonder what bible passage he would quote to defend that behavior?

Yikes. His words may be strong, but his actions speak much louder and don't gel with what he is saying.

Maybe I should reconsider placing my latest Kinkade NASCAR print next to my commemorative Elvis plate collection.

omg!!! thanks for posting these articles.

what a hack that kincade is. he does the art world a huge disservice. we can rest assure that his work will not survive the next century. i am sure of it. that says more about his life and who he was as a person than anything. his so called values have more to do with money than being true of heart, and it shows.

I feel sorry that Peter O'Toole has to make such tripe to help pay his bills.

From David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia to this? How sad.

Kinkade does not does not even deserve a comment, but his paintings make my eyes hurt.

Too funny - just the title made me laugh! What's up with those actors being in such a cheesy movie?

Maybe that's what happens when you try to make a buck off of "Faith" the wrong way.

I thought this was a good Kinkade piece. sorry for posting a link here BTW. Wish I could find a larger image.

Maybe I should change my nickname from "Chaser of Light". Don't want to get confused with anyone.

I routinely enjoy the "heady" aroma of Tommy boys codpiece. That's where it's really warm and fuzzy. How would Jesus paint cottages with cheesy light effects? What's the big deal?

Someone gave me a desk calendar of his, assuming that because I'm a painter I MUST love Thomas Kinkade!
Blech. After reading the article, he's even worse in my books. There's always a dark underbelly.

Kinkade is to painting what formica is to marble.
